Last words and pictures 2005

Adieu, 2005.... I can't say that I leave behind all that many fond memories, but I am truely grateful to live here, every day, no matter what happens. Now... about those new parking fees...

Wherever the road takes you, n'est pa?

I love this town!

Last wave of the year. Know that it is COLD right now!

The Harbor and wharf are a great little walk to take for poking around and imagining what it'd be like to live on a houseboat... There are still some people who LIVE here all or part of the year. Prohibitively expensive/unavailable slip fees keep it from getting too full.

This breakwater (today at low, low extra-low tide) is manmade and fed by the dredge - it keeps all the boats safe, but the whole dredging process is highly controversial.

This statue was a present from one of Santa Barbara's "sister cities", and I've always really loved it.

If you look at the very left side of this picture, and than all the way to the right along the coast, you'll see part of where we should be walking tomorrow - unless it rains!

Santa Barbara Harbor and pier, as viewed from the start of the breakwater.

Found in the sand, along with a bunny, A B C and a dog.

Affordable housing, Santa Barbara style. (Almost a joke)

My dad has a boat at the SB harbour. Slip # j23 I think. He keeps talking about selling it but my secret evil wish is that I will inherit it. Its a Pierson Triton 30 footer.
Is that wrong?

Not wrong to want it - but I understand inheriting is a sucky way to get stuff. How ya been? We have officially become The Worlds' Most Boring Couple - there is pizza in the oven, a movie coming on and some Belvedere/bubbly and that is IT. I was just saying how we are the Life of the Party. Heh.
