The Sound and the (Probable) Fury

This entry could also be titled "Why My Dad will Never, Ever, allow our musical tastes to dictate what is on the radio in his car", or "Exactly how much @$$ Scott/iTunes shuffle kicks", or even "Why My Neighbors Hate Us More Now"

My husband is turning into such the audio/visual gee-- I mean, guy. Last night we realized we'd missed two episodes of this seasons' Lost (dun-dun-duuuuuunnn! the horror!) and 'had' to download the Podcasts of them (along with the two episodes of Grey's Anatomy I managed to miss in all this work-related craziness) so we'd be caught up by tonight. That is to say, we would be caught up with Lost, if it weren't officially Laker pre-season time. This time of year (basketball season...siiigh) , if I could properly install a catheter, an IV food line and and some tastefull fall decor around him, it would save us hours of lots of time and tons of frustration.

Any rate, my point: The majesty that was Scott setting a home a/v display and setting up a 'home theatre' with sound/projection/custom screen was a thing of beauty. Currently, he's projecting the Laker game from the cable box onto the screen, cheering on his new favorite player, Jordan Farmar.

Last night was another story - I can't tell you how long and hard we rocked out (aka kept the neighbors up) while we tripped out on Apple's visualizer display, sipped our drinks, watched the cats get high on catnip, and listened to artists from Metallica to Louis Armstrong. The full list, along with my notes, appears below, in case you're interested. The great thing about this is it was all 'for work" - and you thought I spent my evenings sampling fine wines and picking out fabric samples. We ended up slow dancing to "La Vie en Rose", circled by the cats and each other's arms.

I broke down and bought a bag of candy corn today and realized that there are further oddities I have when it comes to how I eat them. (Didn't you always want to know how mental I am???)

When I grab a handful and pile them on my work desk, I notice that there are mutated pieces - ones of a weird shape and ones that are missing a top, or some that are wholly orange.

First, I set aside the oddly shaped ones to eat last because they are special. I usually also set aside the pure orange ones too. I first eat the incomplete ones (i.e. ones with no white tip) first, and then I proceed to eat the normal ones.

Also, I tend to put two or three in my mouth at a time and lightly bite down about halfway to sort of loose the candies outer shell and to flatten them out a bit. Then I proceed to suck on them, alternating with the soft biting. Eventually I have a mass of desolved candy corn in my mouth which slowly gets swallowed a bit at a time.

Isn't it lovely?? :D
